Engage HB – January

Engage HB is an opportunity to serve God by serving others. Join us on
the 1st Saturday of each month as we meet off campus for our projects.
Please wear your masks, work gloves and bring water to drink. If you would like to bring some gardening tools that is great, but not necessary.

This month’s service will be at Monarch Nature Trail on Saturday, January 2 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Enter at the Rancho Rd. entrance (near Spa Drive, where you can park)
Activities can include spreading mulch, weeding, watering, picking up trash and planting. You can visit their website to learn more about the trail.

EngageHB February – Beach Clean Up

Saturday, February 6, 9:30 am

Join us we help pick up beach trash on our local beaches. We will meet at 9:30 at the beach entrance near the public beach parking lots behind the Jack in the Box near PCH and Warner.

We will spilt up into groups and start to pick up trash along the beach. We will wear masks and gloves to keep everyone safe.

Please join us as we worship and live out our faith by helping to take care our earth that God created.

Unafraid Study

We know Jesus tells us, “Do not be afraid,” but with everything going on in the world, how is it possible not to be anxious? In this five-week study based on his book Unafraid, Adam Hamilton explores the worries and fears most of us experience. Your small group can learn to identify fears and discover practical steps for overcoming them…all in the light of Scripture and a faith that promises again and again that we can live with courage
and hope.

Messy Easter

Saturday, April 11th at 5pm

Messy Church is meeting at our regular time in a different way this month! We will have a virtual Messy Easter celebration time together.

There are FOUR ways to participate:

You can do the at-home activities. There are activities to do on each day of Holy Week.
You can drop off food for the CUMC Food Closet and support Lizzie’s Girl Scout Bronze award project. This will be a Drive-Thru where you can wave to your Messy Church friends and drop off your food items without coming into contact with anyone between 10-11am on Saturday, April 11th.
You can provide photos or a short video (very short) of something you find around your house that shows or makes you think of new life. We plan to use these in a slideshow at the end of our Celebration. Our Celebration time will be private for our Messy Church only. All pictures and videos are due by Wednesday, April 8th.
