A conference for those who are interested in starting a Messy Church and also for those who are looking to enrich and grow their Messy Church Service. Hosted at Community United Methodist Church in Huntington Beach!
October 20-21, 2017
Cost includes three meals:
$120 per person Early Bird Registration
$150 per person after September 1st
Keynote Speakers: Lucy Moore and Martyn Payne
Lucy Moore is founder of Messy Church and is responsible for developing the work of Messy Church nationally and internationally-writing, speaking, reflecting and developing Messy projects. Author of the Messy Church series.
Martyn Payne is BRF’s Messy Church researcher. His role is to visit Messy Churches up and down the UK, listening to the stories of how Messy Church is developing, networking good practice and bringing encouragement. He has a background in Bible storytelling and leading all-age worship and is passionate about the blessing that comes when generations explore faith together.
Can you picture yourself here in October? We have a bonfire on the beach as a conclusion of the first ever Messy Church USA conference October 20 and 21, 2017. We begin with a Friday evening taco truck dinner followed by an inspiring message from our UK keynote speakers, Lucy Moore and Martyn Payne. Stephen Fischbacker, Scottish composer and musician extraordinaire, will get us out of our seats and dancing with lively music throughout the weekend.
On Saturday, October 21 there will be more music, more inspiration, more food, more plenary sessions as well a variety of best practice workshops and a Messy Church organized by our host church, Community United Methodist Church of Huntington Beach. Their beautiful courtyard (pictured below) will serve as our gathering space for our weekend conference.
If you want to stay over on Sunday and attend worship at CUMC, you will get one more opportunity to spend time with Lucy, Martyn and Stephen.
