Passover Seder Dinner on Maundy Thursday
March 29 at 6:30 PM in Moore Hall
When Jesus and his disciples gathered for the Last Supper, they were also together for Passover, commemorating freedom from Egyptian slavery. Passover is one of the largest Jewish festivals throughout the year, celebrated through the Seder dinner, a symbolic meal reviewing the history, promises, and prayers surrounding the events of Exodus 12. Judaism and Christianity now overlap in this celebration as Jesus’ last Passover celebration became the birth of one of Christianity’s most holy sacraments, Holy Communion.
In the spirit of exploring the roots of our faith and celebrating with our Jewish brothers and sisters, come be a part of a ceremonial Seder dinner. Learn about the last meal that Jesus ate, why he and his disciples were celebrating and what that means for us as Christians today.
The meal includes Moroccan spiced chicken with figs and dates, sautéed spring vegetables, roasted new potatoes and dessert.
Price is $25 for adults and $10 for children under 13 years. Tickets will be on sale in the courtyard between services on Sundays March 4, 11 & 18. You can also stop by the church office Monday -Thursday 9-4 and purchase tickets.
