Being An Immigrant Welcoming Community

by

UMW Meeting
Being an Immigrant Welcoming Community

UMW will host an engaging program on April 15th at 7pm, Being an Immigrant Welcoming Community.

As a nation of immigrants, a speaker from OCCORD will inform us of the issues and needs of the backlog of eligible immigrants to become naturalized citizens.

Members of CUMC’s Immigration Committee will share what they’re doing in the community.

Upon conclusion of the program, attendees will be enabled to respond to the needs of immigrants and refugees, as all Methodists are called to do, with prayers, reflection and engagement in acts of compassion.

Green & Clean Shredding & More Event

by

Ladies and gentlemen start your engines! Get ready to shred with the Sackin-Stone Team and CUMC.

Purge your office and clean out your closets and your pantry. Get a jump on your spring cleaning and help your community too. We are Orange County’s most organized and fun shredding event. Our drive-thru experience is easy breezy and unlike anything else. We’ll have the shredding truck on hand as well as an E-Waste disposal station.

Speaking of those in need, the Community Food Pantry will be on site and accepting canned and dry food donations. Your gently used clothing, toys, and small household items will go to OC Rescue Mission. You can be in and out in as little as 10 minutes.

The atmosphere is always very festive. We can update you on the Real Estate Market or just get caught up on each other’s lives. See you on April 6th from 9am-1pm!

Partners: OC Rescue Mission, CUMC Food Pantry, SoCal Shredding, All-Green, Simple Green, Simply Gum, First American Home Warranty, First American NHD, JMJ Financial, Ticor Title, & Seven Gables Real Estate

Dear Sisters and Brothers of Community United Methodist Church of Huntington Beach,

On behalf of Bishop Grant Hagiya and his Cabinet I share with you that after much prayer and consultation, it is Bishop Grant Hagiya’s intent to appoint the Rev. George Hooper to serve as your Lead Pastor effective July 1, 2019. Rev. Hooper is a gifted and experienced pastor who has served for a number of years in the California-Pacific Conference. Rev. Hooper is a spirit-filled leader and preacher with a rich experience in worship, music, discipleship, outreach and stewardship. Wheeler and your lay leadership for a smooth and effective ministry transition.

On behalf of our Bishop, I thank you for your faithfulness, and ask you to hold these two fine pastors and their families in your prayers during this time of change.

In ministry together,

Rev. John Farley
