Ages 4yrs-5th grade

Ready to cook up some fun? Cokesbury’s Food Truck Party VBC invites children of all ages to get on a roll with God as a parade of Food Trucks rolls into their neighborhood for the summer’s biggest party!

This VBC invites children to pray as Jesus teaches us in Matthew 6:11; “Give us this day our daily bread.” These words serve as a reminder that everything we have comes from God — and that it’s by turning to God in prayer that all of our daily needs are met.

At the center of the Food Truck Party is a special food truck called “On a Roll.” Here, Kids (or “Chefs”) will learn from the food truck’s Top Chef, along with DJ Cupcake (an adorable cupcake puppet), about the Daily Specials (Daily Learnings), which are lines from the well-loved prayer that teaches us to turn to God to meet our needs.

Please contact Marty Drake at marty@cumchb.org if you have any questions or to join the waitlist.

Question of Faith

Over the next three months, we will continue to work through Romans. Each Sunday will present a new Question of Faith.

In this time of “safer at home”, many people are struggling. Many of course are struggling with illness or lack of income, and even those who are well and working are struggling with doubt, depression, and questions of faith. We will tackle these head-on in worship.

Upside Down Church - Turning Tables
Turning Tables - Upside Down Church

June 24, 2020 – 5:00 PM Online

Our theme will be “Turning Tables” as we look at systemic racism and the church.

We will be considering the realities of racism in society and in the church.

We will take a closer look at the message of the Hebrew and Greek Bible, where we read of a “God of the Oppressed” and confront the fact  that through history, this message has been rejected in favor of a God of the Oppressor.

We will share in an open dialogue with persons who are turning over the tables in the church and community!

Saturday, July 4 | 9:30am to 11:30am

Courtyard of Community United Methodist Church
6652 Heil Ave (between Golden West & Edwards)

Engage HB is an opportunity to serve God by serving others. Join us on the 1st Saturday of each month as we meet for community service projects.

Our project for July is packing UMCOR Health Kits. These kits are handed out to people after natural and manmade disasters. They can go locally down to the San Diego area to recently released immigrants or survivors of disasters in the US and through out the world.

Afterwards join us for a socially distance, bring your own lunch, and sharing.

Please share this information with anyone who you think might want to serve others and connect with God this way.

We are always seeking to help others on their faith journey.
