Some thoughts about Planned Giving …
Remembering your church as part of estate planning can be a personally fulfilling way to extend your legacy as a church member to reach beyond your personal day-to-day or week-to-week association with your fellow church-family members or as a part of your CUMC work-area and fellowship ministries.
There are many ways to arrange for such a charitable commitment, most of which provide favorable tax treatment and can allow you to retain full control and use of your assets during your lifetime. Those can range from outright gifts of cash, securities or other tangible property, to more complicated vehicles such as a charitable gift annuity or a charitable remainder trust.
If you are interested in knowing more, please contact Don Van Winkle, of your CUMC Foundation Board of Directors directly, or contact the church office at 714-842-4461, or email the office.
Alternatively you can visit the larger United Methodist Church’s Foundation website which provides current resources to help you explore planned giving options for your estate planning.
