Making a Difference Together

Engage HB is all about putting our faith into action by serving our community with compassion, generosity, and love. Quarterly, on the first Saturday of the month we organize hands-on service projects that bring hope and practical help to our neighbors. There are opportunities for every age and skill level. Projects are typically kept under two hours to accommodate busy schedules. Your willingness to show up and serve truly makes a difference.

Here’s a look at some of our typical Engage HB projects, where volunteers have stepped up to share their time and talents.

Monarch Trail Maintenance

Participants gather to help maintain this beautiful local trail, clearing debris, trimming overgrowth, and ensuring a safe and welcoming outdoor space for hikers and nature lovers.

Christmas Centerpiece Creation and Delivery

During the Christmas season, volunteers create and deliver festive centerpieces to members and friends of our congregation who are homebound, spreading holiday cheer and a reminder that they are loved and remembered.

Packing Lunches for the Shower Ministry

A dedicated team packs nutritious lunches for individuals experiencing homelessness who rely on our shower ministry for a refreshing shower and a meal.

Preschool Support

Volunteers roll up their sleeves to help our preschool shine year by washing walls, repapering bulletin boards, organizing supplies, and scrubbing chairs. This effort creates a clean, welcoming learning environment for children.

Shipley Nature Center

Engage HB volunteers partner with Shipley Nature Center to assist with maintenance tasks, supporting the preservation of this important community green space.

Helping a Veteran with Yard Care

Our team stepped in to help a low-income veteran who was unable to keep up with the weeding and yard maintenance in front of his home, showing gratitude and respect for his service through practical support.
