Community United Methodist Church of Huntington Beach will be pleased to work with you to make your wedding ceremony in our sanctuary one of reverence and joy.
With two rows of sixteen pews (32 total) our sanctuary can comfortably seat 300 guests and wedding party members. The Bride’s Room, a dressing room for the bride and her attendants, is conveniently located off the Sanctuary Narthex. A waiting room is also available for the groom and his attendants.
The wedding fee includes the following services:
- Use of our facilities
- Director of Music
- Wedding Coordinator
- Sound system operator
- Multimedia (slideshow) operator for a small additional fee
- Administrative paperwork
Please contact the church Office Manager at 714-842-4461 for information on fees and facilities availability.
The wedding rehearsal is held in our sanctuary, normally within one week of your wedding date. The entire ceremony (with the exception of the music) is rehearsed under the direction of the presiding minister and our wedding coordinator, and will take approximately 45 minutes to one hour.
Arrangements for floral decorations should be made through the florist of your choice. The church has its own kneeling benches, candle holders and candles. A runner may be used on the center aisle.
Who may be married in the church?
The church building is dedicated to the glory of God. To those who will regard the sanctuary with respect and reverence, we offer a cordial invitation.
Will we have to complete premarital counseling?
An important part in preparation for marriage is the premarital counseling sessions the couple will have with the minister. Please plan to make an appointment for the first session at least two months in advance of the wedding.
Who will perform our wedding ceremony?
All wedding ceremonies in our church will be conducted by our Senior Pastor. Guest ministers may perform your ceremony on approval by, and invitation from, our Senior Pastor.
Does the church provide the unity candle?
The church provides a candelabra for the unity candle, however, the candle(s) itself is not provided. Our Wedding Coordinator will assist you with sources from whom you can purchase a unity candle set.
Can we select our own music?
Our Director of Music plays for all weddings when the organ/piano is used. The responsibility for music reflecting a service of reverent worship is yours and must be approved by the Director of Music. If an instrument other than the organ or piano is preferred, this request should be made at the time you reserve the church or as soon thereafter as possible.
What is your policy on photography?
Please discuss your photographic needs with the Wedding Coordinator. We require that pictures be taken from the rear of the sanctuary with available light only during the ceremony. The wedding party may return to the chancel area following the ceremony for photographs.
