SUMMARY:Lenten Study
DESCRIPTION:An Unlikely Lent\nExtraordinary People of the Easter Story By Rachael Billups \nSundays at 11:15 a.m. \nFebruary 22 — March 29 Room 7/8 \nNotice the unexpected this Easter. \nThe crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus stand at the heart of the Easter story. Yet the resurrection did not unfold in isolation—it happened in the presence of a crowd. What can we learn from the women and men who stood nearby? How might their stories invite us to step more fully into the Easter narrative? \nAn Unlikely Lent explores the often-overlooked figures of the Easter story\, drawing our attention not only to the dramatic moments\, but also to the spaces in between—the silence\, the side characters\, and the lingering questions. Through their eyes\, we gain fresh insight into themes of devotion\, opposition\, freedom\, courage\, companionship\, and alliances. \nBy seeing the Easter story from these perspectives\, we may discover that the resurrec-tion is not only a past event\, but an ongoing invitation into something new\, unexpected\, and transformative. As we journey through Lent\, we are invited to walk with eyes wide open\, ready to notice where God is moving—even in the margins. Since the cross is not the end of the story\, we are called to embrace every unlikely moment along the way. \nThe Wednesday evening class is led by Brenda Weikel\, and the Sunday class is led by Suzanne Morgan. Reading the book is not required; each session includes a short in-class video covering the main themes. For those who wish to explore further\, the book is available wherever books are sold. \nWe hope you will join us for this meaningful Lenten journey.

SUMMARY:Care Givers Support Group
DESCRIPTION:This support group is designed to help you navigate the joys and difficulties of caring for a loved one. Together\, we will offer moral support\, a listening ear\, and a space to share experiences. There will be opportunities to exchange ideas\, learn practical suggestions\, and encourage one another along the way. This will be a safe and welcoming place to share both struggles and triumphs\, and to grow together through learning and fellowship. \nOur Congregational Care Ministers will lead this monthly support group\, which will meet on the 4th Monday of each month. . \nWe will be using the book How to Care for Aging Parents by Virginia Morris as a resource. While this book focus on caring for an aging parent it can be applicable to caring for any loved one. The book is not required to participate\, but it offers many helpful ideas and valuable resources and goes into greater depth than our group discussions. \nPlease subscribe to our emails to receive the Zoom information.
