SUMMARY:Put Your Faith into Action: Sandwich-Making for Our Shower Ministry
DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, August 9 | 11:15 a.m. | Moore Hall\nCome and join us as we put our faith into action by serving others in a meaningful and hands-on way. On Sunday\, June 21\, immediately following the 11:15 service\, we will gather in Moore Hall to make sandwiches for our Shower Ministry here at CUMC. \nThis ministry provides hospitality and care to our guests\, and preparing sandwiches is a simple but powerful way to share Christ’s love. All ages are welcome—children\, youth\, and adults alike—and no special skills are needed. Whether you can stay for a few minutes or the entire time\, your help will make a difference. \nWe hope you’ll join us for this time of fellowship and service as we work together to support our Shower Ministry guests.

SUMMARY:Messy Church
DESCRIPTION:Messy Church: Flood Channel Clean Up\nSaturday\, August 8 | 4:00-6:00 PM\n\nAugust is about doing service to our community. Putting our faith into action. The work is for all ages and everyone in the CUMC community is encouraged to attend. This month we will be cleaning one of our local flood channels to make sure trash and debris don’t make it into our ocean. Here’s a little bit more info about the event.\n\nWe’ll meet at the flood control gate just north of the intersection of Gothard Street and Warner Avenue. (Coordinates: 33.717402\, -118.000234) Parking will be available at the gate.\n\nRSVP here to attend and be counted for our pizza dinner. \nMessy Church offers a creative and welcoming way to gather\, connect\, and explore faith together. Rather than a traditional worship service\, this experience invites participants into an evening of hands-on activities\, shared stories\, joyful music\, and time around the table. Each gathering is designed to encourage curiosity\, conversation\, and meaningful connection in a relaxed\, family-friendly setting. \nAll are invited\, children\, adults\, and everyone in between\, no matter your background or faith journey. Whether you’re new to church\, returning after time away\, or looking for a different way to engage\, Messy Church is a place where you can belong\, participate\, and grow together. \nClick here for more information.
