Karen Mestemacher joined the CUMC staff in 2005 with the opening of “The Cove”. She had just retired from many years with the North Orange County Community College District. Over the last 25 years she has had extensive experience working with students and their parents from pre-school to high school including community college. She owned and directed pre-schools and directed after-school programs before going on to community college level.

Karen and her husband, Dennis, have lived in Costa Mesa for the past 35 years. They have two grown daughters and three granddaughters. In her free time, she enjoys reading, yoga and spending time with her granddaughters, who are the light of her life.
