Rev. Jan Wiley began as Senior Pastor at Community UMC on July 1, 2005 after serving three congregations in San Diego and Los Angeles counties since 1983.  She is a graduate of Claremont School of Theology where she earned her Master’s of Divinity degree.  Her husband is also a United Methodist pastor and they have two children –  a daughter in college and a son in high school.

Jan delights in people, has a passion for reading, loves music and spending time with her family.  Jan lived in Scotland for a year, and spent a month as a short term missionary in Sierra Leone, West Africa some years ago.  She has made visits to England, Israel and most recently to Ireland.  One of her favorite places is in maritime Canada on Prince Edward Island.

Jan is committed to sharing God’s love and embraces the United Methodist understanding of the church being a welcoming place with “Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors.”
